Laurier Creative Collective

We founded a collective that worked to minimize the gap between creatives and their accessibility to other artists in the community. The collective was focused on seeking out individuals that wanted to connect with each other and collaborate on various projects and events. As the Co-President I helped to hire and bring together a group of 10 executives that aided in planning and organizing events such as The Stage, Untitled and The Shift. With the help of our entire team we were able to create events that introduced various artists, musicians, designers, photographers etc. to the student body at Laurier University. We had over 300+ attendees to some of our events that networked with vendors present. It was always extremely rewarding when attendees would purchase clothing or paintings from our vendors. It was also great to see various creatives connecting and collaborating with each other afterwards. This collective not only helped us introduce artists to the Laurier community but to the Kitchener-Waterloo region as well. We found that many people who were not exposed to creatives or collaborative events before thrived in these multifaceted environments. The Collective was a great way to celebrate creativity and honour individuals who dedicated their time creating art. We always tried to have a variety of creativity on display whether it be at our events or on social media. Our social media page on Facebook and Instagram was also regularly updated with the latest news, trends and opportunities. You can access our socials in the link below. During my two years as President we were able to host upwards of 10 events in collaboration with other collectives and organizations such as Generation Magazine and Microsoft. Laurier Creative Collective paved the way for my personal creative journey and sparked my interest for the world of fashion design
