Havana VIBES Cuba
CUBA ROUND 2. Okay so my advice to all of you is to VISIT HAVANA WHEN YOU GO TO CUBA. It's honestly so worth it. I know that y'all wanna chillax in the SUN at the beach while sippin on a mojito {because why else did you spend a $1000 for a one week vacation} BUT it's so beautiful. I mean, I am no expert on cities you must visit because I myself have only been to a handful but Havana was just a very different vibe. First of all Havana has the richest history. The reason I say it like that is because the city has in no way been altered to fit the modern traveler's needs {in a good way though, people are so demanding nowadays}. At least not from what I experienced. It is untouched by the American/Western culture, and that is a rare find these days. Secondly, if it is rich in history it must also be rich in culture, and it is! Thirdly, shopping is minimal. This is actually one of my favourite things about Havana because as you all know, when you visit a foreign city, shopping is a must. In Havana however, there is not many places to shop. There is no Zara or Forever21 {that's all my broke ass can afford}, so I feel like you really appreciate the city and people to a larger extent. Imagine going to Paris {I know this is one of the fashion capitals of the world so it is VERY unrealistic but just imagine oki} and you can't really go shopping, so then you are actually being exposed to its culture and its people. It would be very pleasantly unusual. And that is what it felt like for me in Havana, and for once it was actually a relief that I didn't have to spend my money, and I could just enjoy the city. All I am saying is that it is very different from any other capital city that I have visited in my life time and it was definitely worth my money and time!
